10 Rules of Composition

Room for Movement: I left some room ahead of my parents walking and to the left to imply they were walking.

Impact: Because this picture is bright and my sister's hand is in focus , it grabs the viewers attention right away.

Leading Lines: The camera is on the ground so the lens is eye level with the line on the concrete leading you down the path

Rule of Thirds: You can easily break this into thirds because there is so much going on.

This could be both framing and symmetry because the sides are both the same, yet they also frame the subject.

Biggest Boldest Brightest

K.I.S.S. There was nothing else needed except this shot.

Balance: The cars on both sides balance this out.

Avoid Mergers: Just a few moments before he was in front of the monument so I had to wait so it didn't look like it was coming out of his head.
Cropping: I cut out most of my sister to get what I needed

Dusty Pen

This is my roommate Katie who kept putting her head down while attempting to make a study guide, I thought it represented a dusty pen because she really wasn't doing a whole lot with it!

This pen is symbolic with the Bible. To me Dusty Pen represented something old or something written a long time ago.

This is one of the statues above Union Station. They had the different things that represented America, this one has a scroll and a pen representing the thoughts and imagination of America.

That's my mom's hand tracing Ben Franklin's signature at the National Mall. I bet the pen used to sign the original is really dusty somewhere.

This wasn't really a pen obviously, but I know the names will stick around forever on the monument.

These are some of the founding father's signatures inscribed in gold on the National Mall.

Round Car

I wanted to get the image of round car at Union Station's circle around drive.

This is one of those really ugly round fuel efficient cars.

These next few photos are the images of the cars moving which I thought would help capture the idea of "round car"

The Elephent

This is an eyelevel capture of a treetop- which I assumed elephant's must see a lot

This shows a view down the street and how they must see more above than the road below.
